I am so excited to share Stephanie & James’s charming & elegant Wadsworth Mansion Wedding with everyone. You may remember their Boston engagement session where we explored the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and Larz Anderson Park. So here we are, the big day has arrived and they picked the beautiful Wadsworth Mansion located in Middletown, Connecticut. This was the first time photographing a wedding at this amazing venue. After photographing this wedding, I have affectionally named it, The Little White House. This venue has so many different locations and backdrops to capture amazing images. I can’t wait to be back at the Mansion in the future.

The Wadsworth Mansion

In 1900, three years after his marriage to Katharine Fearing Hubbard, Colonel Clarence S. Wadsworth began preparing plans for the site of their future country summer residence. Long Hill in the rolling hills of western Middletown was the name. It was an authority on the emerging science of forestry and conservation. Colonel Wadsworth had a concern for the environment far ahead of his time. Working with the nationally renowned landscape architectural firm, the Olmsted Brothers, 500 acres of Long Hill were designed in the tradition of a working landscape. The property was purchased by the City of Middletown in 1994. An extensive $5.8 million dollar restoration took place, which turned the property into a beautiful event space.
