Traditional Muslim Engagement at Knoxville Botanical Gardens
Knoxville Engagement Photographer
I am so excited to share this traditional Musli, engagement at Knoxville Botanical Gardens. Ayah and Ahmed presented me with a bit of a challenge. Ayah and Ahmed are Muslim. Their religious beliefs prohibit them from touching and kissing one another prior to their wedding day. I have photographed a diverse range of weddings, such as Indian, Catholic, Jewish, Greek Orthodox, and Laotian couples. This was a unique challenge for me. Photographing a couple that is not allowed to have any physical contact is different than what I used to. My work focuses on the physical, emotional and spiritual connection between two loving individuals. This is a challenge for me and brought me outside of my norm. It presented me with a challenge, one in which I fully accepted and was honored to take on.
Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum
We decided to have their engagement photos taken at the beautiful Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Gardens are located on 47 acres of former Howell Nurseries. The garden features walking trails, display gardens, unique & historic horticulture, and over two miles of distinctive stone walls and timeless buildings. We were fortunate to have amazing light during the hour prior to sunset. Their photos turned out amazing. I am excited to share this session with everyone. Here is a look at their engagement session.
