Touches of blue & gold at the Hiwassee River Wedding Venue is the theme of this styled wedding shoot. I was fortunate to be one of the many wedding professionals involved in this styled wedding shoot at the amazing Hiwassee River Wedding Venue located in Delano, Tennessee. Myself and wedding photographer, Stephanie Richer Photography became interested in the venue due to it’s a natural beauty and wooded setting along the Hiwassee River. The venue was purpose-built and constructed on the banks of the river to serve as a premier high-end wedding venue, geographically located close to Chattanooga and the Athens, Tennessee area.

The Styled Shoot- Inspiration

My original vision was to create two separate styled wedding shoots, one being traditional, classic sheik and glamourous. The second shoot would be a bohemian styled wedding with matching décor and details. We originally sought out to find two sets of models for the shoot and were successful in finding two wonderful couples, however; the night prior to the shoot, one of the male models came down with a terrible cold and was unable to make the shoot. So the team improvised and borrowed the groom for both shoots, using the two brides in their respective styled shoots. The results were amazing and I am so happy to share the results of so many wonderful wedding professionals’ hard work and talent. As a result, I prepared two separate blog posts of each styled wedding.

The Hiwassee River Event Venue the idea was hatched to create a premier wedding venue by owner, Bill Collins. The venue was built on top of the family’s 19-acre riverside property. Bill, along with the support of his wife Janet and daughter Kellie, immediately starting working on making their dream a reality. Bill spent nearly a year cutting down trees on the property, cutting logs to size on his sawmill and preparing the wood for the building process.

After much hard work, determination, planning, and pouring their lives into the business, the Collins family is so excited to finally see Hiwassee River Weddings and Events come to fruition. As a new venue, they are already turning heads with the end results of their hard work and are building a reputation of being one of the top wedding venues in East Tennessee.
