First Look Pranks

This past year will be remembered as the year of First Look Pranks.  Prior to 2019, I had never had a groom dawn a wedding dress to play a trick on the groom.  Not only did I get one first look prank, but I had two this past year.  And on both occasions, they had a separate size appropriate dress to pull off this stunt.  I absolutely love that wedding parties and couples are having more fun and enjoying the wedding day.  Making light of things and doing something to inject humor into the wedding day, definitely makes the photos and day go much smoother.  It breaks the ice between the photographer and the wedding party and makes things less stuffy.

I wanted to share the two weddings from this past year where I was able to capture two hilarious first look pranks.  The first is at the beautiful Cobb Hill Estate in Harrisville, New Hampshire and the second is at the 4 Points Farm in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.

For this second wedding, this wedding party member really played up the role by sauntering towards the groom while playing with the dress.  The facial expressions are priceless, I laughed out Loud as I was capturing the moment.  I just couldn’t help myself.

In the end, both grooms were good sports about it, despite the fact that they were truly expecting their soon to be wives to grace their eyes for the first time.  Thanks for making the wedding day fun for not only the entire wedding party, but for the wedding photographer.
